You can use 15-40 oil and it will be OK. My friend owns a trucking company and lots of equipment and all he ever uses is Rotella T 15-40. He also has used it in his 1996 Chevy Truck and it has over 140,000 miles and still runs great.

I own a Kubota 5700 and a Dodge Deisel and all I use is Rotella T 15-40. A great oil.
